Icarus FC held a successful test event at MOD Garat's Hay (previously Welbeck Defence 6th Form College) over 3-4 May 23. The 2 days proved to be a great success with over 20 personnel in attendance.

On Wednesday and after a quick arrivals brief, the players held a 3-team tournament on the 3G, followed by what was supposed to be a pool based recovery session. A make-shift and loosely named water volleyball match was followed by a hunger games style water polo battle of attrition. Of course, all good H&S measures were followed and the 2 lifeguards on duty had their eyes peeled.

After some proper recovery and displacement of water in the lungs, the team reconvened for team development with Club Capt Matty Williams putting on a football based quiz. Diddards Leg (Arnison, Hetherington, Bowden, Greaves) stormed to victory by a comfortable margin.

Thu morning started with a Club AGM (minutes to follow on the Icaurs Teams site), followed by long overdue tie presentations to Toogs, Turbo/GDT, Matty W and Dave Batey; congratulations to you all. A team lunch in the Mess was then followed by an 8-a-side match before dispersal.

Overall, a hugely successful event and one which the Club will be looking to run a few times a year at the excellent Garat's Hay facilities. Pictures of the event are Garat's Hay Pics
